October After Hours at the Robie House

Every Friday evening in October, the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust will present October After Hours at Robie House, a festive, casual gathering with live music and refreshments

The Frank Lloyd Wright-designed residence will be open 5-8 p.m. beginning Oct. 4, and continuing Oct. 11, 18 and 25. Robie House is located at 5757 S. Woodlawn Ave. in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood. An acoustic jazz combo will perform. Beer, white wine and light hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Admission is $30 for Preservation Trust Members and $35 for non-members. Advance reservations are recommended. Visit gowright.org/afterhours for tickets and further details.

During the evening, guests will have the chance to explore Frank Lloyd Wright’s quintessential Prairie style home at their leisure. October After Hours allows access to Robie House’s balconies and private spaces, which include three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the third floor.

The Frederick C. Robie House is a world-renowned masterpiece. The American Association of Architects named Robie House one of the 10 most significant buildings of the 20th Century. Wright’s Robie House features an open floor plan, which introduced a new way of American living that reverberates today.
