‘Wright Around Chicago’ Bus Tour thru August-Concierge Preferred
It’s not every day that you are given the opportunity to see some of Chicago’s finest architecture, even when it is “Wright” around the corner but now it’s time to change that. As part of their summer offerings, the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust will be guiding “Wright Around Chicago” bus tours that will fill your day with ample views of one of Chicago’s most historic architects and his legendary structures.
The day will begin with a visit to Frank Lloyd Wright’s remodeling masterpiece located in The Rookery which is one of Chicago’s earliest skyscrapers, from there the bus will venture out to suburban Oak Park which contains more Wright buildings than anywhere in the world. Besides viewing the Unity Temple, guests will also receive a tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio. Lastly, but certainly not least, the tour will travel to the Frederick C. Robie House in Hyde Park for an exclusive gourmet luncheon on the terrace which will be followed by a scenic drive on Lake Shore Drive to the Charnley-Persky House in the Gold Coast which boasts the talents of Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright.
Tickets for the bus tour begin at $124.99 for Preservation members and $149.99 for non-members and will run July 24, July 31, Aug. 7, Aug. 14, Aug. 21, Aug. 28. The tour will begin and end at The Rookery, 209 S. LaSalle Street, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and arriving 15 minutes before departure is highly suggested. The tour is for ages 12 and over.
