October After Hours: Drinks and Music at Robie House-Concierge Preferred
The Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust will present October After Hours at Robie House every Friday in October beginning Oct. 5.
A festive, casual event with music and refreshments, these gatherings take place from 5 to 8 p.m. and offer a true, behind-the-scenes experience of Wright’s iconic masterpiece. An acoustic jazz combo, featuring guitarist Dave Saenger, will perform. Beer, wine and light hors d’oeuvres will also be served.
Guests will have the chance to explore Frank Lloyd Wright’s quintessential Prairie style home at their leisure. October After Hours allows access to Robie House’s private spaces, which include three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the third floor. Guests can also stroll the Robie House balconies to view the historic University of Chicago campus.
The Robie House is a world-renowned masterpiece and the first structure in the United States to receive landmark status based solely on its architectural merit. Designated as one of the top 10 structures of the 20th century by American Institute of Architects, Wright’s Robie House features an open floor plan, which introduced a new way of American living that reverberates today.
Admission is $30 for Preservation Trust Members and $35 for non-members. Visit www.gowright.org/afterhours for tickets and further details.
